Preschool Screening Announced

Wadsworth City Schools Jump Start Preschool is now scheduling for its annual screening for typically developing peers for the 2020-2021 school year. Screening will consist of two required appointments, occurring on different dates. Children will be screened on skills in the following areas: social, emotional, behavioral, pre-academic (letters, numbers, shapes, etc), attention to task and fine motor (writing, cutting, etc). Children must easily separate from caregivers, follow simple two-step directions, complete adult-directed tasks, and demonstrate age-appropriate language skills. All peers must be toilet-trained and turn three years of age by the first day of school. Screened children must live in the Wadsworth City School District and be accompanied to the screening by a parent/guardian.

Our preschool program consists of half-day morning or afternoon sessions, occurring Mondays through Thursdays. The classrooms consist of both students with identified needs and typically developing peers.

If you are interested in having your child screened, please call the Department of Student Services at (330) 335-1316 to schedule for January 24, 2020. A second appointment for February 21 will then be made with parents.
