Gary McComas was elected to the Board of Education in November of 2017. He and his wife, Jody, have been residents of Wadsworth for 19 years. They have four children that have graduated from or are currently attending Wadsworth City Schools. Hannah is currently a junior at Bowling Green State University; Clay (12th grade) and Cole (10th grade) are currently attending Wadsworth High School; and Lilly is a 4th grader at Overlook Elementary School.
Gary has a bachelor's degree from Kent State University in Manufacturing Technologies. He has spent his entire career working in manufacturing in the private sector, holding many positions in management. He has been employed by Soprema, Inc. for the last six years as Plant Manager here at their U.S. headquarters in Wadsworth.
Gary has been and continues to be involved in the Wadsworth community through sports coaching, support of our high school athletics, and serving on the Business Advisory Committee for Wadsworth City Schools. He is currently serving as a board member of the Wadsworth Area Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. McComas said, "I believe that education is the foundation that will help develop our children to have a successful life. I will work hard for the children and work with the administration of the Wadsworth City Schools to be the best district that we can be for our children's future."
