Amanda Gordon and her husband, David, have resided in Wadsworth for over 16 years. They have two children who attend Wadsworth City Schools.
Mrs. Gordon graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration Finance. She was a Merit Scholar at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude with her Juris Doctorate degree.
Mrs. Gordon is a senior partner at the law firm of Roetzel and Andress, L.P.A., and she has practiced her entire career of over 25 years in the areas of public and school law and finance. She maintains a state-wide public law and finance practice, and her experience spans all aspects of public finance law, including federal tax law and federal and state securities laws as well as economic development, public/private partnerships and general public and school law counseling.
Mrs. Gordon has been a guest speaker at many public trade associations and other client events on various topics concerning public and school finance, economic development and the Ohio Sunshine Laws. She has also published articles on such topics for various trade magazines. Amanda was also recognized as a "2013 Women's AV Preeminent Attorney" and also received the "Top Lawyers in Ohio" designation in 2013.
Mrs. Gordon is very active in the community: coaching both boys and girls in baseball, softball, and basketball; serving on the board of WYBSA; teaching PSR classes at Sacred Hear; serving as president of Valley View WHYS for three years; and volunteering many hours in District classrooms assisting with educational enhancement projects.
Mrs. Gordon, her husband, and two children often make community volunteering a family activity and have volunteered for activities supporting Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Juvenile Diabetes, Wadsworth Youth Football, and the Salvation Army, among others.
Mrs. Gordon said, "I am passionate about education for our youth and love working with kids. I believe that is our solemn duty and obligation as a community to provide our children with the best education possible to arm them for success in the future."
