Guidance on Device Issues & Liability

Time/Days/Location for Device Exchanges:


At the WCS Administration Building (524 Broad St.) on Mondays and Thursdays from 9-10 am and 5-6 pm parents can swap their child's device out if there is a problem with it.  Please read on for guidance on this procedure. 

 

Preschool - 6th grade:


If there is a problem of any kind, whether it is a failure or accidental damage, there will be no charge to the family.  We will simply take the damaged Chromebook, and give them the same model Chromebook in return.  If they say their AC adapter is damaged or they lost it, give them another one. We do not have any spare iPads over at the admin building at this time.  The majority of the issues we will encounter will be the Chromebooks.

 

7-12th grade:


We must continue to operate the same as we have been when the school year was in session.  If a family paid for device insurance, then they will get a swapped out HP 11” G6 Chromebook right on the spot for either a unit failure or accidental damage.  If the family did not pay for device insurance, we take the Chromebook from them and give them an Acer Chromebook as a loaner (and include AC adapter).  When their device is repaired (either by WCS or by HP) they will need to return the Acer Chromebook to get their HP Chromebook back.
