Beginning this year, Wadsworth City Schools are requiring fingerprint and background checks for those volunteers who are in the school on a regular basis. Volunteers who read with students in hallways and our extended learning areas are required to be approved by the Board of Education once their background check and fingerprints are cleared. Mrs. Trenta will take the names of those volunteers wishing to have checks completed and notify the central office BEFORE you make an appointment to go through the process. ** IF you are volunteering on a limited basis (Soc Hop; Carnival; field trip, etc) you will not have to go through the process. ** You may make an appointment at the Charles Parsons Administration Building between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (not 12-1:00). The background/fingerprint checks will cost $46 to process (none of the money goes to the schools).
To view our Young Author's Program Packet for 2014-2015 click here. This packet contains the details for students to write and illustrate their stories, "requirements" of a book; suggest topics that would be age/grade appropriate and information on how to put it all together. Books are due Friday, March 6. All books written by the students will be proudly displayed at Barnes & Noble on March 21st and 22nd during our Read for Valley View campaign!
Wadsworth City Schools has scheduled a Family Always First night on Wednesday, March 4. This night gives families an evening together with no homework, no tests or projects, and no assignments. We have also agreed to not hold evening regular season practices or evening rehearsals for students.
Families can spend the evening playing games, cooking dinner together, hiking at a local park, watching a home movie, or having a special event that you all enjoy. We hope you will take this opportunity to celebrate being a family.
The Wadsworth High School Drama Department presents: The Addams Family: A New Musical Comedy on March 19, 20, and 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the James R. McIlvaine Performing Arts Center at the high school. Tickets can be ordered in advance by clicking here.
In THE ADDAMS FAMILY: A New Musical Comedy, Wednesday Addams is all grown up and has fallen in love with a young man from a respectable, normal family. Morticia does not know until they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents. The fun doesn’t stop throughout this entertaining musical.
