Effective June 1, 2014, registration of all students, regardless of grade level, will be completed at the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building, 524 Broad Street (330-336-3571). Parents/Guardians registering their student(s) may complete the required paperwork (available online) and bring it to Mrs. Linda McCann, Dept. of Instruction, at the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. For those parents without online access, forms will be available at the administration building. The enrollment brochure will provide information about the items needed for enrollment as well as useful information for all newly registered students. Welcome to Wadsworth City Schools!
Wadsworth High School and Isham, Overlook and Valley View Elementary Schools have received Gold Level LEED Certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a point-based system where building projects earn points for satisfying specific green building criteria. Within each of the seven LEED credit categories, projects must satisfy particular prerequisites. LEED certification offers third-party validation of a project’s green features and verifies that the building is operating exactly the way it was designed.
Beginning this year, Wadsworth City Schools are requiring fingerprint and background checks for those volunteers who are in the school on a regular basis. Volunteers who read with students in hallways and our extended learning areas are required to be approved by the Board of Education once their background check and fingerprints are cleared. Mrs. Trenta will take the names of those volunteers wishing to have checks completed and notify the central office BEFORE you make an appointment to go through the process. ** IF you are volunteering on a limited basis (Soc Hop; Carnival; field trip, etc) you will not have to go through the process. ** You may make an appointment at the Charles Parsons Administration Building between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (not 12-1:00). The background/fingerprint checks will cost $46 to process (none of the money goes to the schools).
Parents/Guardians of children who will turn 5 years old by September 30, that would like their child to attend kindergarten for the 2014/2015 school year and have not already registered them, should contact Shelley Moore in the Department of Student Services. Ms. Moore can be reached by phone, 330.335.1316 or email wadc_moore [at] wadsworthschools [dot] org
