Random Drug Testing of Students

The Wadsworth Board of Education has implemented a random drug testing policy that will begin in the fall of 2017.  Any student in grades 7-12 that is planning on participating in any extra-curricular activity that is not tied to an academic grade or any student who plans on purchasing a parking pass will be subject to the testing.  Every student eligible will be tested one time prior to the start of his/her activity and then subject to monthly random tests throughout the school year.  The policy and procedures can be found by clicking here.  Testing will begin in August and more information will follow from your principal.  If you have any questions, please contact the high school (330-335-1400) or the middle school (330-335-1410).

School Emergency Guide for Parents/Guardians

In response to suggestions that were made after our various safety notifications were sent this school year, we have created a School Emergency Guide for Parents/Guardians to answer a number of questions we have been frequently asked.  The document is designed to offer general guidance to parent/guardian(s), recognizing that all situations are unique.  I would like to thank Joe Magnacca, Director of Facilities; Adam Innocenti, School Resource Officer; Randy Reinke

Attention Volunteers

Beginning this year, Wadsworth City Schools are requiring fingerprint and background checks for those volunteers who are in the school on a regular basis. Volunteers who read with students in hallways and our extended learning areas are required to be approved by the Board of Education once their background check and fingerprints are cleared. Mr. Roberts will take the names of those volunteers wishing to have checks completed and notify the central office BEFORE you make an appointment to go through the process. ** IF you are volunteering on a limited basis (Soc Hop; Carnival; etc) you will not have to go through the process. **   You may make an appointment at the Charles Parsons Administration Building between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. (not 12-1:00).  The background/fingerprint checks will cost $46 to process (none of the money goes to the schools).
