The purpose of the fishing club is to get our youth outside doing positive activities and learning skills that they can use for life. This club is for the experienced fisherman and beginner. The club is planning six fishing trips this year. The school provides transportation and we use grant money from the ODNR to supply the kids with gear when needed. Some other activities the club has participated in other than fishing is charities and fundraising projects. The club members in the past have created community art projects; a clay mural about fishing that is permanently displayed in our school, and a painted mural that hangs in the school hallway that brings awareness to clean water and it’s affect on wildlife. Fishing clinics can be arranged if there is enough interest for new or first time fishermen.
Students will need to pay a $15 activity assessment to be in the club. The fee can be payed on line (see Pay for It on school web site) or in the office.
The dates will be announced on the announcements. The Club goes to Silvercreek Park, Medina Lake, & Turtle Pond.
On 12/01/2012, we will have our annual fund raiser, where we make and sell breakfast at a home wrestling tournament
Students will ride a bus after school and will be brought back to the school after we are done fishing. The bus will return to the school at 5:30. They can bring their own fishing pole and tackle or use the clubs. If they bring their own equipment they must be brought to school or have their equipment dropped off in the office, they are NOT PERMITTED to bring fishing equipment on the school bus in the morning. We will start the club up again in the spring once the weather breaks.
