Intra-District Open Enrollment
Parents interested in intra-district open enrollment for the 2016-2017 school year are invited to attend an informational meeting with Superintendent Hill on Monday, April 11, 2016, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Distance Learning Lab (Room 2702) at Wadsworth High School. After entering through the front doors, proceed up the stairs and to your left.
Intra-District Open Enrollment is for Wadsworth residents who are interested in having their children attend elementary buildings (Grades K-4) other than their home-base schools.
Additional information, including application date deadlines, and the intra-district open enrollment packet are available on the Open Enrollment webpage.
Incoming seventh grade students must have the tDaP and Meningococcal shot recorded at the school or medical proof brought to the office before schedules will be released. Don't stand in line - fax the record of the 6th tDaP shot record to us at 330-336-3820. For more information click here.
Once again, we received grant funding from the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation that will make a summer STEM Camp for students who are currently enrolled in kindergarten through eighth grade in the Wadsworth City Schools. Camp will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon daily at Wadsworth High School. Dates for camp will be July 25-29.
Thanks to funding from the Four Cities Compact, we will also be able to hold Computer Science/Coding Camp this year. Any Wadsworth City Schools’ student enrolled in kindergarten through eleventh grade is eligible to attend. Camp will be held from 9:00 a.m. to noon daily at Wadsworth High School. Dates for camp will be July 18-22.
In order to give more students the opportunity to attend a camp this year, students will be limited to attend only one camp. If we end up with extra spots in either camp that are unfilled, a separate sign-up will be held.
The letter that follows was sent to all parents, staff, and community members on February 25, 2016 from Dr. Hill, Superintendent:
The purpose of this letter is to address the release of our most recent report card from the State of Ohio; the report card is from the 2014-2015 school year. Due to the PARCC tests that were given last year (these tests are no longer used by our state) and the time needed to receive and decipher the results, report cards were released by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) much later than usual. The first part of the report card was released on January 14 and the second, and final, part today.
The Wadsworth City School District values our collaborative community partnership with the City of Wadsworth, the YMCA, Wadsworth Public Library, Summa, WCTV and the Soprema Senior Center, all occupants of the community center on our high school campus.
When you are attending events at Wadsworth High School we ask that you please park either in the Visitor Parking Lot or the School Events/Student Parking Lot (see map here). The North and West Parking Lots are reserved for use by our community partners listed above and are not to be used by visitors to Wadsworth High School. We thank you in advance for helping us adhere to these guidelines.
For parents who have a child who will be turning 5 years old prior to September 30, 2016 and are planning to enroll him/her for kindergarten, please complete the information by clicking here. A Parent Information Meeting will be held on Monday, February 22 at 6:30 PM in the WHS Performing Arts Center.
