Wadsworth Cardboard Challenge

This is an opportunity for students and families or students and friends to create a cardboard creation. Bring your creations to the WMS cafeteria on Saturday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to share and see other awesome creations! Creations should focus on the following categories and should include ONLY cardboard (i.e. boxes, tubes,etc.), Elmer’s glue and/or duct tape.  The creations should fit through a standard size doorway.  The categories are:
  • Wearables (i.e. things you can wear made of cardboard)
  • Buildings and Structures
  • Furniture
  • Vehicles and Transportation
  • Open Division (you can add materials in addition to cardboard, glue and/or duct tape and make a creation that doesn’t fit into any of the other categories. Just make sure it fits through the door!)

Head Middle School Cheerleading Coach Sought for Winter Season

Wadsworth Middle School is seeking a head middle school cheerleading coach for the winter season.  Applicants must be willing to begin their duties in October 2015.  Qualified and interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume, and references to Athletic Director Brad Musgrave at wadc_bmusgrave [at] wadsworthschools [dot] org or Varsity Cheerleading Coach Ashley Wolfe wolfe [dot] ashley [at] gmail [dot] com.  Application deadline: Until filled.

Wadsworth Sports Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony - November 14

Twenty-­two former Wadsworth High School athletes and coaches will be inducted into the Wadsworth Sports Hall of Fame on November 14, 2015 at the Galaxy Restaurant in Wadsworth.  Social hour will run from 6 to 7 p.m., with dinner served at 7 p.m.  Induction ceremonies will begin immediately following dinner.  Click here for a complete list of inductees written by Charlie Aukerman.

Reservations are $32 for adults and $20 for children under 12 and can be made at the Athletic Office in the high school.   

Two Items from the Superintendent

The Wadsworth City School District Board of Education will hold a special meeting on September 29 at 8:00 a.m. in the PD Room of the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building. The purpose of the meeting is to adopt FY15 permanent appropriations and the amended certificate of revenue, to complete a self-evaluation of the Board of Education, and any other business that may come before the Board.

The following information is being shared by the City of Wadsworth and our school district as part of our effort to raise awareness of the heroin/opiate epidemic impacting our community.

Student Registration Moves to Administration Building

Effective June 1, 2014, registration of all students, regardless of grade level, will be completed at the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building, 524 Broad Street (330-336-3571).  Parents/Guardians registering their student(s) may complete the required paperwork (available online) and bring it to Mrs. Linda McCann, Dept. of Instruction, at the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  For those parents without online access, forms will be available at the administration building.  The enrollment brochure will provide information about the items needed for enrollment as well as useful information for all newly registered students.  Welcome to Wadsworth City Schools!
