Federal Court Instructs Ohio Districts to Post Information for Parents Concerning Data Release


A U.S. District Court has ordered that 2013-2014 school year records from the Ohio Department of Education’s Educational Management Information System be turned over to Disability Rights Ohio as part of an ongoing lawsuit. (The official notice can be access by clicking here.)


Important Dates to Start the 2014-15 School Year

Below is a list of building orientations and open houses to start the school year.  To view all events in our district, please click "View All Events in DynaCal" in the right column.  The DynaCal calendar can be viewed by day or month and is easy to print for a handy reference.

Student Registration Moves to Administration Building

Effective June 1, 2014, registration of all students, regardless of grade level, will be completed at the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building, 524 Broad Street (330-336-3571).  Parents/Guardians registering their student(s) may complete the required paperwork (available online) and bring it to Mrs. Linda McCann, Dept. of Instruction, at the Charles R. Parsons Administration Building between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.  For those parents without online access, forms will be available at the administration building.  The enrollment brochure will provide information about the items needed for enrollment as well as useful information for all newly registered students.  Welcome to Wadsworth City Schools!

LEED Gold Certification Awarded

Wadsworth High School and Isham, Overlook and Valley View Elementary Schools have received Gold Level LEED Certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a point-based system where building projects earn points for satisfying specific green building criteria. Within each of the seven LEED credit categories, projects must satisfy particular prerequisites. LEED certification offers third-party validation of a project’s green features and verifies that the building is operating exactly the way it was designed.  

August Newsletter

Our August newsletter will be electronic this year.  Below is important information for the upcoming school year.  Attached is information about schedule pick-ups, freshmen orientation, Guidance important news, dates/times of events for the 2014-15 school year, Parking Pass information, Student Fee's, WHYS brochure and much more....


IF you would like a hard copy of the newsletter, you can stop into the main office between 7 AM - 3:30 PM Monday - Friday.  The newsletter will be available via hard copy after Aug. 1st.

Morning Announcements

OK WHS It is time to start tailgating and rallying the troops for Football.  This Friday the Varsity football team plays away against Ashland.  The theme for this event is beach ware.  So get out your shades, flops, swimsuits and sun-tan lotion.  Find a ride and get to Ashland this Friday.  Freshmen, we expect your there in full-force and are prepared to teach you the ways of the WHS student section. Remember this Friday is beach ware, GO GRIZZLIES!
Attention Juniors!! The reach out booklet for the magazine sale are due by this Friday! Remember, if you turn the booklet properly completed you will receive a $5 credit towards your Junior Banquet ticket. Booklet can be dropped off to Mrs. Csaky or Mr. Lynn.
