New Online System for Maintaining School Meal Accounts

Effective August 1, 2011, Wadsworth City Schools Food Service will utilize a new payment system, MySchoolBucks.com, to allow you to make deposits into your student's school meal accounts.

Please read the letter and instructions for account set-up provided under Links/Resources - My School Bucks on this page.

Menus and Offerings

All menus are posted online (see Quick Links on this page or any building page) and are also printed in the Trading Post newspaper.  Additionally, the monthly menu will be posted in your child's classroom and cafeteria.

At the elementary level, each week a deli choice is offered as a substitute for the entrée.  These deli choices are listed on the monthly menu.  Additionally, chicken nuggets and chef salad lunches are offered as daily choices.  Students submit their choice of entrée during the morning in the classroom.

Ala Carte Offerings

The ala carte lunch option allows for students to purchase their ala carte selections they like, but bundles it with one or more other healthy components, such as milk, fruit or vegetable, all for the lunch price.  Each school offers various ala carte items at various prices.  Please see each individual building for more information.

Please note that Grades K-6 are permitted to charge once with a letter accompanying the child home, explaining that a charge took place.  In extreme circumstances, students may charge a second time.  However, all charging privileges are then revoked until full payment is received.  Students who have exceeded their charges will be given a white milk and peanut butter sandwich.  All charges must be paid in full prior to Christmas break and two weeks prior to the end of school.  There is no charging permitted two weeks prior to school ending.  To avoid exceeding charge limits, please take advantage of the online payment system through MySchoolBucks.

Please note that there will be no charging permitted at the high school under any circumstances.

National School Lunch Program
(Additional information/applications available under Links/Resources)

Wadsworth City Schools participates in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program.  Some students may qualify for free or reduced-priced meals.  Applications are available from this web page (see Links/Resources to the right) or from any school building office.  PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU MUST USE THE 2011-2012 APPLICATION; FAILURE TO DO SO WILL RESULT IN THE RETURN OF THE FORM TO YOU AND A DELAY IN YOUR CHILD(REN) RECEIVING THE FREE/REDUCED BENEFIT.

Wadsworth City Schools follows the Offer versus Serve policy sponsored by the USDA.  Offer vs. Serve is intended to decrease waste and costs by allowing students to refuse up to two components in a lunch and one component in a breakfast.  The lunch components consist of an entrée, vegetable, fruit, and milk.  The breakfast components consist of an entrée, fruit/juice and milk.

National School Breakfast Program

Currently we offer breakfast to students at Franklin and Isham Elementary Schools, Central Intermediate School, Wadsworth Middle School and  Wadsworth High School.  A paid breakfast is $1.50 and a reduced price for breakfast, for those who qualify, is $.30.  If you qualify for free or reduced price lunches, you qualify for the same benefit for the breakfast program.
