We were notified by the Medina County Health Department today that there was a confirmed case of Pertussis at our high school. This is the third case of Pertussis that has been confirmed by the health department within our school district during the month of May. We have been told by the health department that this number does not constitute an “outbreak,” but we have chosen to notify all school families of this, rather than notify only those in the affected school, as we have done on the other occasions this month.
You can find a letter from our school nurse, Mrs. Lynn Decker, along with a brief fact sheet on Pertussis by clicking here. If you have any questions pertaining to Pertussis, please contact the Medina County Health Department at 330-723-9688. If you have any questions pertaining to our school district, please contact me at 330-335-1301 or at email@example.com. Thank you for a great school year and for your continued support of our school district.
